I want to major in Psychology, and three jobs related to this are psychiatrist, social worker, and forensic psychologist.
The average pay for a psychiatrist is $163,660 per year. This salary is higher in more urban areas. It requires a bachelor's degree, a medical degree, and a residency. People who have this job tend to be disciplined and compassionate.
The average pay for a social worker is $40,000 to $50,000. Urban areas pay more. Education required is a Bachelor of Social Work, but individuals with psychology degrees can find entry-level work. People who have this job tend to be compassionate, empathetic, and dependable.
The average pay for a forensic psychologist is $60,000 and $70,000 annually for entry-level positions. Salary is higher in urban areas. Education required is a doctoral degree in psychology, usually in clinical or counseling psychology. Then you need board certification. People who have this job are critical thinkers and good communicators.
Wow, these are pretty interesting. Looking at these professions almost makes me want to reconsider mine. They are pretty cool ideas, I especially like the forensic psychologist because it sounds pretty risky. I think its pretty brave of you to want to deal with criminals.
ReplyDeleteThese are really interesting professions. I think being a psychiatrist would be really interesting and it's a good job to have, because if you get a medical degree and decide you don't want to be a psychiatrist, there are still so many other back-up options for you. They all sound like interesting professions and they're all pretty well paying, so good ideas!
