This week during my internship, I practiced communicating effectively. As the leader for my interview group, I was responsible for setting up an interview with a knowledgable person, so that we can create radio stories from the recording. I had to communicate clearly what times we were available for a conference call, who would be interviewing, what the radio audience demographic is like, and other information about Earthscope Media. I have successfully lined and interview up.
I'm very glad I was able to work on my communication skills, because last week during my internship I struggled with communicating effectively over the phone while doing another interview. However, I think as my confidence is builds, my communication skills improve.
Another skill I worked a lot on this week is working with others. In my internship it's very important to work with my group members to write interview questions, edit blogs, share notes and information and ask questions. I am usually pretty good at working in a group, but I found that this week it was a challenge because I had to consistently check both of my emails and Facebook to make sure I was responding to everyone I was working with, and I was very patient with people who took a long time to respond.
Sammy, it seems for me that your job is very hard and I don't know how you do it.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering, For you what is the hardest part of this Intership? And why?
I noticed that you did a really great job with the food to farm interview. It took a lot of courage to volunteer to be the first person to ask questions, and I think it's great that you took the initiative to do that. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI had the same issues that week with communication! It was hard to set up interviews, do them professionally, and collaborate with other group members. Good job!
