Week 2 Work Readiness

Work  Readiness:

POSITIVE:
-Honesty: I emailed the person in charge of my internship and honestly let her know some concerns I've been having

-Tolerance and Respect: I respected the opinions around me when we had a group discussion on the topic of "Cadillac Desert."

NEGATIVE:
-Dedication: I wasn't as dedicated as I could of been, quite frankly because I was overwhelmed. I find myself holding back because its summer and I've been pushing myself all year so I want to be more relaxed. I should try to be more dedicated with the work load.

- Literacy: I had to ask people several times to help me with my computer during class so I hope I can improve and move faster with simple computer tools.

  1. It's great that you've been so honest and respectful. Being good with people is an invaluable skill to have and is useful in every conceivable circumstance. Being dedicated can be a little hard I know, especially because summer is so short, and we all want time to relax and have fun. Seeing the internship as something fun as well as educational, instead of another job to do might help you be more dedicated.

  2. I too have been overwhelmed by my internship. It is hard to stay dedicated to an internship that can seem too big to handle. It is also good to take time to relax before school starts. I have been trying to find a balance between summer rest and work. Hopefully, as we continue our internships, everything will be less stressful, and it will be easier to stay dedicated.

  3. I know how it feels to not be completely dedicated to a job. It is hard to complete all the work for a job like earthscope because there is no defined workload- it is all dependent on how much work you want to do. To succeed, we have to motivate ourselves.
