Goals, Habits, and Allies

Goals
Organization
I want to be much less cluttered in my overall organization of belongings and work. This will require the breaking of some built up habits that have caused me to disregard being organized, so although it is a realistic goal it may take a sizable amount of time to achieve.
Guitar
Although I have played the trumpet for almost seven years, I have always wanted to learn how to play guitar. My goal would be the achieve an intermediate skill level by the end of the summer, which I will accomplish by practicing as often as possible.
Habits
Response Times
I have a particulary bad habit for not responding to texts or emails within a reasonable timeframe. More often than not it is the fact that I don't enjoy texting or writing emails rather than simply not wanting to respond to someone. This habit is especially important to fix as soon as possible, because it is equally as unprofessional as it is potentially harmful to other people's feelings.
Work Ethic
I have a habit of only fully applying myself in work that I find particularly interesting. I want to be able to improve my work ethic by exerting the same amount of effort on all aspects of a job, regardless of whether or not I find it interesting.
Allies
Zach Mclane- Skilled video editor/producer
Annika Williams- Advanced Mathematician
Future Allies- I would like to be allied with someone with extensive experience in the field of creative writing.

  2. Noah, I would also like to fix how I organize my time management and work, as well as learning how to play the guitar. That's interesting that we have similar goals. Although we have similar points to work on, I consider myself very professional and if you need tips on how to act in a professional environment or just writing an email to your boss, you can count me as an ally

    1. @Sophia: Thanks for offering such a specific suggestion for how you might support Noah's professionalism.

  3. @Noah: Focusing on organizational skills is a great idea, especially if you figure out a couple of systems that work for you before college. When you are on your own it is much more difficult to stay organized since you have so much more to be on top of. Can you explain a bit more regarding a desire to work with someone in creative writing? Any specific type of writing or for a specific purpose?

  4. Noah: I also have trouble responding to emails and texts on time. Having a busy schedule and being organized with my time is a huge skill learn. How I try to manage is to keep a time calendar in my kitchen so not only will I know where to be at what time, my family will know too.

  5. @Noah: I can tell that focusing on your organizational skills will be very supportive. Managing your time is very important especially when working with others, and the goals that you have set for yourself will most likely positively impact your future. It is very important that you aim for these goals until they have been accomplished!
